• UHV began offering a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing, the university’s first terminal degree; and announced it would offer a Master of Science in computer science and a general studies concentration in the Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences.
• A Computation & Advanced Visualization Engineering, or CAVE, lab opened to give UHV students, faculty and local industry leaders exposure to cutting-edge motion capture technology.
• Animation Career Review website ranked UHV sixth in the Southwest and No. 45 in the nation in its Top 75 Schools for Game Design/Development.
• UHV announced it would open the new 5,500-square-foot UHV Center for the Arts in downtown Victoria to house the university’s art and design courses and a second CAVE lab.
