  • The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs re-accredited UHV’s Master of Education degrees in clinical mental health counseling and school counseling for the next four years. UHV is the only CACREP-accredited school in the area and one of only 13 in Texas.
  • The university began offering a graduate-level degree concentration in autism and a graduate certificate in professional coaching, and announced it would offer a 60-credit-hour clinical mental health counseling master’s program and a graduate-level degree concentration in educational technology.
  • UHV faculty and students began participating in a national curriculum study funded by a National Science Foundation grant aimed at improving science teaching and learning in early childhood through eighth-grade classrooms.
  • Pass rates for initial teacher certification continued to place the school in the top 30 percent of educator preparation programs in the state.
